Sir Vince Cable

Wouldnt say he has the "ear of the yoof", hes just saying what they want to hear right now. Like most people, they vote for what will effect them right now, not what will effect everyone now and in the medium term.

Could you see Vince [or Theresa] rocking up to Glasto and getting an audience...

And, of course he's offering the world that's what you can do when on the opposition benches...

Not as if the tory boys 'n girls have never done so...

Wasn't Brexit just an exercise in promising mostly old people that if we got out of the EU everything would be great again? As you say, they all do it.

Your knowledge of recent history is lamentable.

Unlike the Labour Party the Tory Party was campaigning in favour of Remain.

It was actually traditional Labour voters that swung the result towards Leave.

You may be right but as a by-product it also showed that many yoofs couldn't be bothered to get out of bed to vote. At least the oldies cared enough about the future of the UK.;)

And indeed you may be right - but there is an alternative unfortunate explanation that doesn't so much involve the future of the UK - and it was the one that my 85yr old MiL cited and that of her two closet 85yr old friends.
