I see the wannabe Speaker of the HoC, Ms. Harriett Harperson is sticking her oar in over the award in Theresa May's honours list. Apparently Harperson wants a review process so that it doesn't taint Theresa May's legacy.

I don't know where she's been for the last couple of years but if Harperson thinks that Boycott's award will in any way taint May's legacy she has clearly lost the plot. Her legacy was long since tainted by much worse.

That’s very

You’re very mature.

I must admit it makes me chuckle when the guy who masterminded her disastrous 2017 general election campaign gets a knighthood, the guy who negotiated her deal that suffered the largest defeat in parliamentary history gets a knighthood but apparently a retired cricketer getting one is the big controversy...

He lives nearby and wanted free membership of my club. He claimed we would get a massive increase in applications if he was a member.

They are such a nonsense nowadays I almost respect people more when they turn them down, David Bowie being a good example.

Re Boycott he was prosecuted for physical abuse of a partner, denies it but was found guilty in a court of law in a western country with a good legal system. Yes there may be extenuating circumstances and he could have had a bad conviction BUT that prosecution should be enough to have prevented a knighthood here. Heard him on R4 this morning and he was his usual bullish way, shouted down the interviewer for bringing up the fact he'd likely have had to wait until he was 78 to get knighted because of the conviction. Sends out a bad message. Then went on about his conviction in a French court being good reason to leave EU.
