Sir Alex Ferguson

Guys, - Im a Man U 'fan', if you can call me that, but regardless of who it was, there is no way that Carragher's tackle was anything more 'pure intent' and intimidation, and he fully went in to leave his mark on Nani, there's no doubt whatsover.
Sure, Nani is a pathetic wingeing ponce, who goes down at the merest of puffs of wind of a player nearby, but none the less, he was capable yesterday of showing Carragher as the spent force that he is, hence why JC went in as he did, - first Punch so to speak.

I didnt see it live, only on Youtube today, but I only think Nani goes down when he realises the severity of the hole in his leg, - jesus - the photo is on the thread for all to see, thats a gaping wound by anyone's standards.
Hardly a 'stitch up and get back on' kind of injury, even by Lewis Moody standards.

As for Ferguson, the level of hatred against someone so successful is bizarre, - he works the Media well in my opinion, and I actually think he's one of the lesser controversial after game speakers anyway, so cant see why everyone gets so worked up over him ??

Now Mourinho was someone who you could hate easily, - pretentious prick, or Wenger's wingeing, but Fergie hardly ever raises his voice in post match interviews anyway !

Back to the point - in my opinion, post match footage should be used for proper punishment for tackles like that, as it is in Rugby Union, - players simply shouldnt get away with 'intent to injure' like that, its clear for all to see.

If that were the case, he'd be banned for a period, and might learn that its unnaceptable.
As it is, he's free to do it again, and he will. its what he's good at.

Carraghers tackle was bad, but if the Liverpool player hadn't jumped out of Raphaels challenge it probably would have been a lot worse than Nani's injury.
Nani: He's a diving, cheatin, crying, bleating living doll.

Ferguson is a huffy arse. As blinkered as any of the top managers. Him and Wenger are like two peas in a pod. Only Wenger still talks to the media at least....

Whatever he's drinking I'll have some please!

Fergie hardly ever raises his voice and is one of the least controversial??????????

Rooney elbows someone and "We all have to respect the ref's decision" (according to his lackey).

Luiz fouls someone "We need a stronger ref"

After todays gubbing Ole Red Nose has swerved the media. To be honest I am scunnered by the wee Jakey. He offers up Mike Phelan to spout a pile of pish after yet another favourable decision and as what goes around came around he gets ripped into the officials.

I hope the FA ban his arse and that SKY and other media companies complain about him breaching their contract.
No idea if it's been said or not but Ferguson wasn't going to speak to the media no matter the result, it was announced before the game.

did Gerrard not get sent off for one no way near as bad as that a short while ago in the fa cup match?

Nope, he was sent off for a tackle when he went in two footed, lunging downward and made contact.

There's not been any mention of the fact that in the fracas after Rafael's poor challenge (which I think was a rush of blood caused by the fact Maxi had just gone studs first into Rafael) Suarez (who recently served a long ban for biting a player) pulled Rafael's hair.

Instead we hear about how Nani was making more of it than there was when he had a gaping wound on his leg.

As a Man Utd fan, I'm used to reading complete drivel normally driven by "small team" syndrome and paranoia but sometimes it goes beyond football bias and into the fantastical.

Yep, that's me!

Small team bias - guilty!! I support the team from half a mile of where I was born, a mile from where I went to school and the first team I ever saw, then in the 3 division and still go when I can even though I moved 40 miles away!Last game attended 3 weeks ago

Most Man U fans I come across have never seen them live, have never been past Watford in their lives and claim to be lifelong supporters. They see that total arse Ferguson moan about referees that dont send off Luiz but completely forget that Rooney shouldn't have been on the pitch at all. The same manager who wont speak to the BBC and took his loan players back from Preston and persuaded Pullis to do the same when Preston sacked his useless son!

That is also forgetting the other 20 years of bilge that he speaks - it's just a shame my boys didn't hold on to win the FA Cup back in 1990 as he was only 8 mins away from the sack - and yes, I was there for that one too!

Ferguson was never "8 mins away" from the sack. That was a media myth.

As for the rest, the fact that you felt the need to justify the team you support says it all. I have never felt the need to justify supporting Man Utd, and I'm not even English. If anyone thinks I'm a glory hunter, I'll lose no sleep over it.

If thats justifying the team that I support then I'm happy to do it, other than that you believe what you want! most Man u fans do!!

You're making the mistake of type casting all of our fans. There are idiots, just like follow all teams. I'm level headed and don't get caught up in the unconditional love that some do, I don't see us as infallible. That said, fans of other teams do have a massive inferiority complex towards us and to a lesser extent the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal.

It goes with the territory but it doesn't make it any less laughable.

I think that we all accept that there are a lot of genuine supporters of Man U who go to matches and are "proper" supporters, as opposed to the armchair boys who never have seen them play and just use the "supporter" tag to lord it over other fans.

But because we support smaller teams dont mean we have "inferiority complexes" I for one am not in any way jealous of your club, I just have grown to loathe them over the years because of the attitude of Ferguson and players who, especially in the days of Ince and co, could kick lumps out of their opponents but cried whenever it happened to them and Cantona who, whilst a gifted player was an utter disgrace for his kung foo incident at our place and Furguson who never critised him afterwards.

I happen to like suppoting a club that is small and unfashionable where you feel most in the crowd are locals, born and bred, where we dont have a devine right to sucess but enjoy whatever sucess comes our way and when you tell people who you support cant tell your age just because they won the league when you were 10 years old.

By the way I love watching Arsenal play and will be with them every step of the way this week as I will be with Chelsea.

Guess what club in the Premier League has the highest proportion of season tickets distributed amongst the miles immediately surrounding the ground?

Yip, you've got it. Good ol' glory hunting Man Utd.

Ferguson isn't perfect but surely you aren't so naive to think that he doesn't see the bad in his players? He simply rarely shows that in public. Just listen to what our ex-players say, he absolutely destroys them in private.

It's almost become a cliche but Fergie is the master at developing the "them against us" siege mentality in the squad. Time after time we overcome adversity. Look at the recent run of results we've had; losses against Wolves, Chelsea and Liverpool. If we were Arsenal, I honestly believe more people would be writing us off than currently are.

Don't take that as arrogance on my part, I believe we have been woeful this year and are simple top of a bad bunch for the season.

Oh one thing though, going to matches doesn't make anyone a better fan. That's such a horrible reason for dismissing someone as not being a fan.

I don't go to see them because......
1. I have better things to spend my hard earned on than watching overpaid idiots kicking a ball around.
2. I live 150miles from Old Trafford.

I think that mostly, people just dislike them because with Ferguson at the helm, whether playing well or badly, or distinctly average (this season), they always grind out results, and are guaranteed contenders in everything they play in.
Sure, sometimes things go badly, as Saturday shows, but who's brave enough to bet against them even now ?

Like him or not, just like Tiger Woods, Ferguson is THE best manager that has ever managed ANY team, let alone Man Utd.

I don't get into statements like that, it's impossible to prove. He is a great manager but is definitely on the wane.
