At Carnoustie we've got "Lucky Slap", "Spectacles" and "South America" (named after a local in the 19th century, who, on the eve of embarking on a journey to the South Americas to spread the golfing gospel, fell asleep steaming drunk in one of the bunkers of the 10th and subsequently missed his boat)
Our little course, The Buddon Links, has all her holes named after famous battles in history like Ypres, Waterloo, Somme and El Alamein.
Anyone got any interesting stories about how their course came up with the names of certain holes?
