Hopefully someone may know the answer, probably okay but don't wish to waste money.

I am really after a 14 degree 460cc driver.

As I kind of have room in the bag for two drivers, I am thinking of buying a cobra womens driver(head) for the off weeks/days when the lower lofted driver isn't really working, so I can have a 14 degree headed driver. Also with winter coming and minimum roll distance wise it doesn't really make much difference.

Does anyone know if you can put a mans shaft into a womens cobra fly z driver head ? (I would have thought the fittings are the same in the head or am I wrong in thinking this??)

It will fit but the head will be lighter so swing weight might feel odd.

That could be countered by using one of the heavier head-weighs - if they can be acquired!

Certainly a light shaft would help - provided that also works for the player!

It would help the swing weight but not the project as it would just be a ladies driver.

Perhaps get a high loft SLDR head.

it'll be fine you won't notice any difference in swing weight unless you go stupid heavy on the mens shaft. if it bothers you just try and find a mans shaft of similar weight to you usual one

So what?

If the player has a slow/marginal swing speed, then a Ladies Driver head, with a light shaft, could well be just what is required!

I am certainly going to use my 'old man's Driver' (Adams Speedline w 54gm Rul) pretty soon (probably from this weekend!) as the carry is significantly more than my 'summer' setup of XTD/TP7

Ummm... is your post count low? No mention of slow swing speed from the OP and then you go on to tell me about your own SS?

Where did I mention my swing speed?

If you are going to criticise, kindly make sure you get your facts straight!

Presumably, you are picking the Ladies Fly Z as it comes in 14* and (supposedly) has the same adapter as your 'standard' one. Are you thinking of deciding after a couple of holes that you are having an off day with your 'standard' one, so changing to the higher loft one - simply by unplugging the shaft and re-inserting it?

There might be a few 'raised eyebrows'/queries from FCs or opponents if you do. It might pay to get confirmation that you are allowed to do that and carry it with you - just to be ultra-safe!

It might be quicker to just tell him everything you know about golf equipment and let him pick out what fits best.... or.... and hold tight.... you could just answer the very simple question he asks?

Interesting about the M2 HL going to 14, just looked online so another option thank you.

Hopefully swing weight shouldn't be a problem, as I sometimes use the wifes driver and given I cant feel the club at all whilst swinging it as it is so light(shaft and head, guessing here), the results are pretty good, even on the bad days with my own driver.

Yeah Foxholer, the carry of the wifes driver(raspberry flay z driver, you are correct) and my driver is very similar(about 220) but probably on a more regular basis with my wifes tbh, so for winter golf and bad days it is better. On harden fairways and good days my current driver is so much better.

I would carry both drivers tbh rather than mess around on the course swapping. I currently carry a 6 iron but almost never use it since getting a 9 wood, as the carry is very similar. So I have the option to swap the 6 iron for another driver(or really in my eyes a very big headed 3 wood with that loft).

Thanks for the replies, that's great, sounds like I can just change over the shaft and it would be a goer. The 6 iron will be departing once I found one at the right price and then try it out with my shaft for a round, just didn't want to ruin my wifes driver head as she would kill me if it didn't fit properly :p ).

Thanks again for the information.

My SLDR is the 12* and will go up to 13.5* and you can pick them up pretty cheap from fleebay.

Another option could be to go for a Mini Driver, I use to have the SLDR 14* Mini and it was a little beast off the tee.
