Not really. I think there's been a few events over here? Seve was popular on both sides of the Atlantic and they're raising money for his foundation... why not?

Can't see any sign of hi-jacking - its not the Seve Trophy. Let's not forget, the USA is one of the richest nations in the world and if a charity can tap into that good luck to them.

The Americans will do it well and make decent cash for the Seve foundation- Great idea:thup:

Americans can be very insular when it comes to sport and I think the fact that Seve was the first European golfer to really catch the American public's imagination is part of his greatness and legacy. First European to win the Masters and at that time the youngest, in many people's eyes his association with Augusta is at least as strong as with St Andrews or Lytham, so to me it seems very fitting to have a Seve Foundation event in the States. It would be worse really if they didn't. Being a par 3 event it would have been great to have held it at Augusta. Maybe one day they will.

how about a SEVE COMP for us mere mortals in the amatuer game played in this country?

Check these out.
