Just back in from a great day at Birkdale. £30 to see Couples, Watson, Monty, Kite and Langer. The course looks great and boy do these guys still get it out there! Couples was awesome. Followed his back 9... The guy is metronomic! Funk is a hoot. He didn't play great, but was laughing and joking with the crowd on his way around...
If your in the area tomorrow, its well worth a visit.

Good pic's, sounds like a good day, and for that money a bargain.
As miserable as Monty can be at times, i bet you didn't see him spitting everywhere and swearing after every badly struck shot ?

I actually like Monty, and I can see you are still struggling to get over your dose of Tiger terrors :rofl:

no, he has put on a bit of extra beef around the middle- He's a very nice guy on the course just concentrating on his job.....

anyone see his two drivers off the deck..............awesome.........show these young whippersnappers a thing or two.........

Monty has put on a few, but he is a unit! Watson and Couples have forarms like jackhammers! No wonder they still pound it a fair distance! Missed the drivers off the deck! Have Sky +'d it! What was noticeable was a heck of a lot of the American players used either Adams or Bridgestone clubs...

I once saw Monty - Ryder Cup year and after the Welsh Open - having a bite and coffee at the services. Told David I was going to speak to him and he said I was mad as he'd snap at me. Well I dared and he was quite the gentleman as I wished him well for The Ryder Cup - so I like him :-)

just back myself. had a lovely day with the other half. must be the first Saturday afternoon we've spent together in months. :rofl:

she loved it. we found a few nice vantage points throughout the day then followed langer for the closing holes.

will post some pics up later.


I was standing to the left when Watson teed off at the first. must have just slipped by you karl :(
 
Saw Monty at a clinic at Silvermere before the RC and he was professional and courteous and you'd expect. Wandered around the shop for a bit and came out and he was on the patio with his manager. Got a photo with him and so did Mrs H and he gave us both a signed one too. Funny thing was there were a number of people who had clearly just finished their round and were oblivious to who he was
