As I can't spend hours on the course one of today's tasks is to sort out my riduclously large CD collection and be brave enough to put those I doubt I'll ever play into a For Sale pile!

So - Ebay seems a lot of faff for low value items. Has anyone tried that Magpie place who buy them or is Amazon a bit easier than Ebay? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks.

They are virtually worthless. I looked when I digitised my collection but they were worth so little that I put them in a box and threw them into the loft.

Amanda, we had a big clearout last year and decluttered our place which meant most of our CDs being sold. Like you, we couldn't be bothered with the hassle of ebay so we used Music Magpie. You get very little for each one (20 - 60p on average) but we had them all on the pc anyway and never used to listen to the CDs so figured we'd be better off getting some cash and gaining a lot more space! The service was pretty good on the whole and we'd use them again. The only pain was typing in the bar-code numbers and certain CDs not being recognised. I'd suggest getting a helper to read the numbers out whilst the other types them in. You can scan the barcodes if you have a webcam I think...

Happy selling!! :D

Thanks. I did have a look previously and entering the bar code made my eyes hurt! Worth it to get something for them though I think.

I have over 700 albums which HID hates. But I refuse to get rid of them despite the fact that they've not seen a CD player in years (digital age, innit)

If you have an iPhone you can use the Magpie app and scan the barcodes, works a treat, I shifted about 100 CD's and DVD's last week. You don't get much for them (think i got about £45) but I just wanted shot of them.
