It isn't. It's 'Openreach'. Which is the infrastructure division of the 'BT Group'.

True. My mistake - from common usage. Every other part of the Group is prefixed by 'BT'. Presumably not named 'BT ...' as that would seem less 'Open' - part of the requirement to treat all customers equally.

Totally part of the Group. Therefore Totally the same organisation - to me at least! Perhaps with a different 'culture', but definitely part of the BT Group! Totally Separate maybe, not Totally Different.

I've been a sub contractor within the construction industry for the last 25 years,if open reach comes under cis, you need to get a UTR number, you need to be a verified s/c to be deducted 20%, non verified 30 % will be stopped, often companies will use payroll company who then deduct a fee at source for paying you.
You can claim at the end of the tax year for any overpayments stopped at source,against costs incurred etc ...
