So the sun has finally decided to show its face in t'Yorkshire, the ground is no longer resembling the worst days of Passchendale and the clubs are positively jangling in the bag with their eagerness to be played with...
...and I'm sat on the sofa with my leg raised in an attempt to get my ankle looking like an ankle again and not like that which one would expect to see on a 20st council estate doler.
Gyms are meant to be places where you improve your physical shape, not knacker it. This is all due to an accident suffered in the gym on Thursday night involving some free weights, a step and some calf raises. The person who decided that a step needed to be in 3 parts for increased versatility can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned after the bloody thing decided to separate mid-raise and send me all over the shop. Being an unsupervised gym and in on my own caused some difficulties I should say and how I managed to drive home and not pass out I'm still not quite sure...
Anyway, feeling sorry for myself not because of the pain and discomfort (which are most notable) but because at only the 1st 48 hours, I still don't know how bad this sprain is and how long I'll be unable to play golf for.
Rest assured, the moment the ankle is ready, the weather will turn! So for all those playing this weekend - enjoy it no matter how badly you play 'cos it still beats being laid up!
