Ours has competion draws and the green keepers reports on how he thinks the course is in great shape(in his dreams).

Steve, yer a typical grumpy torn faced Dundonian, your course is magnificant!

Bob

Until recently my club put everything in the public domain. Normally I'm sure this could be ok. However, we are undergoing a large program of rebunkering across the course and showing the pictures on the website, which should be a marketing tool, is perhaps not the best idea. They have since been reomved and hidden in the 'members' area.

The other things that should be in the members area are...

1. Outcomes of club social events, i.e monies raised for charity

2. Competition winners

3. up and coming social events

4. A club forum for posting new ideas and arranging games

5. Team news and results

6. Planned work on the course

7. The week ahead Tee times that are booked by societies

8. minutes of formal meetings ( AGM etc )

9. general notices from the Secretary and committee ( slow play, GUR, etc etc )

I think it is valuable area.

Cheers, Colin.

The names of those who have been caught naked from the waist down just off the 7th tee. A popular local knocking spot. What else would you expect to find?

Ours must be like the Masonic Lodge on only Fools And Horses
keep sending e mails but never get a reply,Hay Ho never mind if i ever get in Bob i will let you know.By the way not seen any of them joined together stick things in any shops. You was'nt robbed at Ferrybridge was you :D :D

Oh dear, secret societies, secret members clubs, usually have something to hide, if not, what would be the point of it being secret. but secret memberships on golf sites, I think the police should look into,if they are not already members  what the hell do golfers and golf topics need secrecy for :D, except maybe swopping shafts?? :D

I agree Herb.
Ok, I understand members may not want their names, addresses and phone numbers on the site (leave that to the phone book) but do people's handicaps, who won the midweek medal and when the next club knees up is, need to be hush hush and locked away behind a password?

Ours has details of when the tee is booked for comps, societies etc and the odd bit about comps, all a bit pointless really. I remember getting the password when I joined, being all excited about gaining access to the secret world of the members section, and then finding out there was nothing there. It was a bit like the ending of Wizard of Oz

I agree Herb.

Yes, because it is boring !!!!

The website is primarily a marketing tool for the club.
