Seaford Head GC

I played at sea houses ( different golf course) a few years back. I noticed another tee the other side of a path on one hole.I asked in the clubhouse after the round what that was there for. It’s for when the one we used falls into the sea.they mentioned they would pay to have concrete blocks placed at the bottom of the cliffs to stop erosion. The council said nope, they are happy to let the natural erosion wash away part of the course.

Just got smaller

As far as I knew, that crack is up beyond the GC towards Cuckmere Haven - walk away east from the 15th tee, for those who know the course. The part that has slipped in the 2nd photo is on the coastal path to the left of the 18th. The fact there are so many parts which are that dangerous shows how bonkers some of that path is. I fully expect the 17th to become a par 3 at some point in the future, the back of the green is only 40m or so from the cliff edge as it is.

I looked at that photo and thought is that part of the path that is now history ?

Is it not anyway... ;)

Shame that at some point it will probably disappear into the English Channel, I've always enjoyed playing there.

I went to Beachy Head a few years ago. At various points on the walk up from the Birling Gap car park up the hill, there were people literally lying on their backs, with their head OVER the cliff taking "birds eye view" selfies of the view off the edge.

Gave me anxiety that did.

EDIT: Example pic from google maps... People are mental

You would have thought that in this day and age that the H&S police would have put up warning notices, fencing and had security personnel patrolling the area to stop people enjoying themselves.

There are signs on the cliffs and the whole area is patrolled by a team of volunteers in vehicles on a daily basis. Nothing will prevent people's stupidity.

I hope they don't lose the 18th! It's one of the best finishing holes ever!
