Hi all,
So, through a combination of winnings and money put onto my account for Birthday etc, I have £180 to blow on something special :-)

Been thinking that perhaps a Scotty Select GoLo mallet might be nice, but having never used one, that could be a big waste of money, or could it ??

How many of you switched to a Scotty and loved it from the start ?

My Yes! marilyn is still liked and working ok, but just fancy 'summat special' perhaps, and as every Driver I have ever used has been eratic at best, it aint goin on a new Driver !!

Drive for Show - Putt for Dough !!

Thoughts ?

There is a lot of choice in the Cameron range. The Golo is a nice putter if you like a mallet, or a California Del Mar is you like a half mallet. The Notchback is an interesting putter too, if you fancy something like a Newport but with a bit more heel/toe weight and alignment assistance.

Ignore the bitter Ping fans. How many Tour players who are not Ping staffers play Pings? Compare that to the number of non-Titleist staffers who play Camerons - end of story. Camerons (no apostrophe) are excellent putters.

Id agree with the above.

I switched from YES! to Mr Cameron and have found the change to be a good one.

The only thing I would add is this. If you're going to spend that sort of cash....... Get fitted.

I did and I can honestly say its saved me shots. Not because its a Scotty, but because its fitted to my and my swing and gives me the confidence to hole out, something I've never had buying an off the shelf putter.

Where did you find out where to get fitted for Scotty's?

i chucked marilyn for the california fastback and love it. ive joined a proper golf course with fast greens and feel ive improved. marilyn liked slow n hairy and served me well, but the fastback will be in my bag for years

I love my fastback and had it now for 3 years. Had a look at changing earlier this year but the only thing I wanted to change it for was a new fastback  Didn't see the point on shelling out 200 odd squids on a different grip. Try it first you might not like them.........

I don't think there's much middle ground with a Scotty.
You either love them and drool from the side of your mouth at the mention of the name
Or you have no feelings for them at all - or very little.

I had a RedX for a couple of years. It was ok, didn't actively dislike it but didn't really putt any better with it, but certainly didn't putt any worse.

I've had a go with the Studio series and really didn't get on with them.

Not for me....

Having watched old videos of past majors with Nichlaus and Seve etc. they guys could putt like nothing else. Did they have Scotty Camerons?? I don't honestly know the answer.

Thx for the comments guys, I know i'd like to try them first but where is the question !? I doubt our ProShop will order some examples in just for me...........although thats where my £180 Credit is lodged, so maybe they will.

I do like my yes Marilyn, its simple but effective, and in all honesty, I put quite well anyway.

Maybe instead of a new shiny special thing, I should be having a putter lesson or course of lessons, - perhaps far more likely to help me back down to Single figures ?!

But - if a Scotty helps me hole just 1 more a round...............Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm lol
