Hello guys

Going up to Ayrshire mid March for a few days playing the two Turnberry courses and one other?
Probably Western Gailles or Glasgow Gailles. Rankings and general opinion says WG is the better course. WG only £ 10 extra to play but likely to be off fairway mats whereas GG might not have mats. Does playing off mats affect your game and enjoyment or would playing off normal fairways at GG be more appealing.WG does look amazing so I'm leaning that way. Thoughts?
Also if anyone is interested joining me on any of the days please get in touch.
Cheers

Wg all day long it's the better of the 4 courses with dundonald being second GG then barassie all will be on mats but you can take it to the side and play, I use a spurk mat and it's great second season with it and it just feels like a firm fairway but more forgiving, we played Robert the Bruce course in November £75 was outstanding but kept looking over at the Ailsa in envy 😂 going to try get it played while the rate is lower, no matter what you choose all will be in great condition and are brilliant courses, even a bit up the coast you have Irvine and west Kilbride little cheaper but good links courses

Can’t really go wrong with any you’ve mentioned but if it was me I’d be picking western gailes every day of the week. Even if it is mats.

Yes playing Robert the Bruce one day and only £50 and no mats as a combo ticket with Ailsa.Always wanted to play WG because of its reputation but now thinking can I squeeze a game in at Dundonald now!

That's a good price and no mats is a bonus, when we played it it was frosty which is probably why they had mats on same with western, wg gave us half of fee back because of the frost and temp greens which was nice of them, go big mate and get them all in 😂
