Looks like being a 12-12-18 one league structure.
Sounds like good sense to me.

Mind you Mr Green does not like it and has threatened to remove The Rangers from Scottish football.
Anyone hazzard a guess as to where he will be going?

Still not good enough but maybe better than we have, we shall see.

As a country I reckon we have too many senior clubs. There are 3 in and around Falkirk and 1 doesn't even have a ground.

Its not a sensible move at all. Its another example of the SFA not listening to the fans. A top league of 16, play home and away, play summer football, get rid of that stupid split. That's what Joe Public want. As usual the SFA have refused to listen to the punter and again do what they want. Its pathetic.

I think that this structure will lead to 24 full time teams and the third tier that will be on a level with Junior Football/Highland League.
[Note for viewers in England, Junior Football in Scotland is not junior football]

Should be more competitive with a window of opportunity to any ambitious lower league club.

Perhaps Green was looking across the Irish sea.

Will never happen as clubs want 2 home games against the opposition. If we get a 16 team league and clubs only get 15 home games there are a few who will vanish in a year.

The idea is half baked and Crawford has it spot on. But instead of scrapping the split (which most fans I know wanted rid of) it's proposed to be even more complex where top 6 play each other AGAIN! and the bottom 6 play the top 6 from the "championship"... Bonkers system IMO!

Let's be honest; it's been done to speed up Rangers' return to the top league, probably at the behest of Sky. Once they're back, they'll scale it back again.

Can't see how that works. As it stands, The Rangers win Div 3 and go to Div 2 so still in a division 2 divisions away from the top flight. Proposed, The Rangers start in the "National League", a league 2 divisions away from the top flight... Speedy!

Perfect. Too many diddy teams who drink Scottish Football dry. Time to become ruthless and realistic.

not quite mate, two 12s splitting into 3 8s. Bottom 4 of top 12 joining with top 4 of second 12

I would expect Rangers to appear in the top 24 teams, somehow.

I wasn't behind it to begin with but now that the mopes are wanting to walk and it looks like it's 12-12-17 I really think this might work.

Let's get right behind it.

This is a given. I just think its been rushed and is going to end in a disaster. Am I right in saying the 2nd league can't be won? What is the point in starting a season knowing you can't win a league trophy?

Well done Reagan, Lawell etc......

From what I heard though in principle it sounds a good idea, there was some bizare 8-8-8 mentioned where the bottom 4 from the top league and top 4 from the second league meet in an interim division that allows them to play off for the right to promotion.

All sounds a bit to complicated for the average punter to follow and get excited about, though I may have heard it wrong on talksport. Rangers if they want to boycott scottish football should start in the the Isthmian or Rymans like AFC Wimbledon had to. No favours given out because of history if they want to move country then go through the countries pyramid structure and work their way up through it.

Ah, must have evolved from the original idea I saw the other day. Not that it's any better this way.

The top 8 keep the points accumulated already and are scrapping for the Title or, to be more realistic the Europa League place for coming second.

The middle 8s points are zeroed for the second phase, at the end of which the top 4 are in the 'SPL1' dozen the next season, the bottom 4 go to the 'SPL2' the next season.

The 3rd post-split league of 8 are playing to avoid dropping into the third tier (national league or whatever they will call it) for the
next season.

The middle group of 8 could have a great amount of interest generated - the others less so.
