On an windy wednesday in North East Lincolnshire two forum friends meet up for 18 holes.

Hickoryshaft kindly got me, Scienceboy in on his work golf society day. So there we were, teeing off as part of the first 4 ball out on the day.

A good start as no one embarrased themselves after the first few holes, starting with nett pars and birdies.

Things began to unravel by 5 and 6, a tough tight par 4 and 3.

Scienceboy began a stellar last 13 holes on the 6th with a par after a topped drive.

The 8th proved the highlight of the day with HickoryShaft taking just a drive a 9 iron and a 2 foot putt to eagle the par 5 (his first every and a fine one it was too!). Scienceboy kept plugging in the nett pars and birdies to recover from the poor start to do the last 13 holes in +5 gross for an 86. Sadly a missed birdie and par putt on 18 after the most accurate drive of the day didnt do the previous 12 holes justice. The 18th being a tight tree lined par 4.

So onwards to the Grimsby and Normanby Forum meet on Friday the 29th, a nice little warmup over and done with!

Did you get that folks my very first Eagle :D :D :D

Been trying for long enough and had a few chances but nothing as close as today's putt - very very happy - I told everyone in the clubhouse at least twice - lol.

ScienceBoy is also under playing himself here - he joined us for the day and shot the equal best score including having some in the group who are members there so was an awesome performance.

Had better buy a telescope to spot his drives at Grimsby.

All in all a good days golf.

Well done on the eagle!

Wish we had a par 5 on our course you hit the green with a drive and 9iron.

Either it's a short par 5 or you hit it timgolfy long! haha.

Cheers guys.

The par 5 in question is a risk and reward dog leg hole - lay up before a ditch that is right on the dog leg or a big carry over trees onto the far side to shorten the hole.

Played this course a fair bit and this was by far the best drive I have had on that hole to date.

Mine and ScienceBoy's drives were within about 1 foot of each other on the far side. That was the last time I was close to his drives - he can play a damn good ball off the tee.

Good to have forum company to see my 1st one

Roll on forum meet on Friday at my place for some more fun. :D
