Same loft--different distance?

Should the following clubs go similar distances?

5 wood (18 deg)
3 hybrid (18.5 deg)

Taking it that both clubs are fitted correctly should distance be equal? Or would 5 wood be longer and something like ball flight different with both?

different everything

the only way to really 'prove it' is to put yourself on a Trackman with both, but in general -

1. the 5 wood will have a longer shaft and higher club head speed - potential for more distance
2. the 5 wod will have a lower CG,a higher lauch angle, and impart more backspin - higher overall flight, stall, then softer landing

however, handicap golfers will not necessarily (very rarely!) be able to hit either fully, or cleanly, so they won't see these in practice! The same thing applies when you put a 3 iron in their (my) hands.

In the hands of a strong player with a good swing speed - yes, they should go a similar distance.
They will have a different flight but should end up within a few yards of each other.
In the hands of a slower swinger, the 5 wood should go 10-20 yards further due to the extra spin applied by the fairway's head. This extra spin keeps the ball in the air longer and that means more carry.
A lowish lofted hybrid needs a decent swing speed to get the most from it. If you can't generate enough speed, the ball struggles to get airborne and you lose carry.
