Sainsburys

Being a non-smoker I've never had to worry about looking for the tobbacco kiosk when out shopping... But I do believe not many [if any] of the local supermarkets still sell 'smoking' products... Since changing hands recently local newsagents has stopped selling cigarrettes/tobbaco etc... No bad thing in my opinion...

I bought some in Sainsbury's this morning for the wife. I usually refuse to buy them for her but as she's coughing like a tractor...

And Jeez, what a price! I worked it out that it costs her £2k a year!!

Yeah I stopped 10 years ago after smoking 30 a day. I woke up one morning after a big night out and my mouth was like burnt sandpaper. I've never touch another since and cannot stand the smell

Surely this is a good thing?...Try using the time and one you'd save smoking & buying cigs to invest in the stock market. The worst that will happen is you lose all your money and be healthy. If you continue to smoke, you'll lose all your money and be unhealthy.

Interesting move...might bring a few shoppers back to their local shops... certainly the newsagent - a little money out of the pockets of the big guys for once.

Strangely I vividly remember my Mother always telling me smoking was the only pleasure she had......sadly passed away through lung cancer aged 62. Honestly guys and gals if you can give up please give it a go. I know you could get run over by a bus tomorrow etc but it isn't doing you any good.

Sounds like a guilt free pass for loads of expensive shiney bats

As a young, cool, in with the crowd teenager I used to buy the odd ten deck of B&H Silver to hang out at a youth center with. Get me!

I remember they were just more than £2 a pack. Saw a kiosk the other day... my god. They've got a lot more expensive in the last 10 years!!!!!!!

Was just about to post this. It's nothing to do with concern for anyone's health.

Perhaps not from Sainsburys but a decent move bt the Scottish Government.

There was loads of Hoo Haa when at the start of this year the stopped alcohol being promoted in 3 for £10 wine and £20 for 3 boxes of lager type deals.
The supermarket aisles look a lot better know and the price of drinks seem to be about the same. Folk just not being suckered into excessive buying.
More power to thier elbow at least they are trying something positive.
