Came home from work and my car was bloomin lagged! Thought it was from the building site opposite but turns out according to my neighbour it's the Sahara desert???? Now I'm no expert but that's in Africa and I live in Cornwall How can a storm there end up all over everyone's car in the local area? Was amusing seeing everyone washing there cars this evening.

On another note I got introduced to waterless car washing tonight and it's bloody amazing stuff. Will be buyin a bottle my self very soon

I have a black car and it looks dreadful today. Good job the hose pipe ban is over as that's the job for tomorrow - or for the day when it looks unlikely to rain on it 5 minutes after I finish.

Don't gloat Amanda, we still have our ban firmly in place and my car gets covered in seagull poo!

Yesterday evening saw the car covered in "dust". Out with the bucket and gave it the full treatment. Woke up this morning and it was plastered again. What a waste of time. Will wait until the Sahara calms down and just keep the glass clean.
Sand storm dust particles can rise high in the atmosphere and travel for thousands of miles.

use the 2 bucket wash method PLUS snow foam, the snow foam is great fun as well.

Dont, repeat DONT just put a wet sponge straight onto the particles as you will scratch the paint

One of the worst things you can do to a car.

Dirt and stuff gets mixed in with water as you wash, stuff gets on cloth/sponge and doesn't wash off and it scratches your paint every time you apply the cloth/sponge. Bad times indeed.

What a load of tosh. Show me a car without ANY scratches what so ever then it might be a problem.

Washing your car?? what a novel concept. My cars that dirty that ive had to change the colour in the logbook. I can't remember the last time I washed it, but then again, it rains that much up here that it never dries for long enough...
