Anyone got, or used, or tried an Odyssey Sabertooth or Sabertooth 2 putter? I am struggling with my alignment at the moment and although I said I would never consider one of these larger mallet thingies, having always been an anser-type man, I am beginning to have a re-think. I can't stand the look of the two-ball putters, or the craz-e type, but the Sabertooth models look reasonable. Your comments would be appreciated.

I've got a Sabertooth putter and love it. Like you, I struggled with alignment, but now feel that my putting is getting much, much better. Have had it for over a year now and can't see me changing it anytime soon.

Now, if only my driving and bunker play were as reliable, I might actually be able to get my handicap down!

Today, I played in a pairs thing. One ball, two players, alternate shots.

On the first tee, we decided to use my marked up balls (with a sharpie alignment line) instead of some new virgin Titleists.

We didn't hit a bad one all day. We didn't miss anything under about 8 foot. 30 putts today......both of us are utterly rubbish at putting, but it's hard to get it wrong with a marked up ball.

Got a Sabertooth a few weeks back - love it. I was having similar issues on putts 6 foot and under. Tha Sabertooth has put me back on track. Some of these Hi-MOI putters look like you can get Sky on them, some look like you've the entire contents of an Ironmongers down there. The Sabertooth doesn't to my eye.

LOL :)

I've just put my Fisher Falcon Putter into the paper for sale.

Today, our greens were about as fast as they're going to be, and I still used my ridiculous mallet.

Nothing wrong with the Fisher, it's just impossible to argue against my putting with the Taylor Made.

I got a SabreTooth about a year ago to replace a cheap Ben Sayers mallet from eBay.

I spent time testing out the options in AG before buying (but not from AG - sorry but too expensive!)

I like the balance of the club and the soft feel off the face. I get a great forward role with this club too so overall very happy.

Not for everyone though, my father in law finds it far too light for his liking - so my advice it go test one out and see if it suits before parting with your hard earned cash.

I have one and love it. Really enjoy using it.

I like my putters but the Sabretooth gets alot of use and is one of the only larger style putters I have. Very good looking and great to use.

+1 for me.

You could have saved a lot of effort by simply saying - "Today I played foursomes".

Yes, I could have done, but that doesn't mean much to people who don't play the format ever.

Are you in the mood for some Pedantry?
