Rule on foursomes? Confused

Hi new here. Advice required please.
Are you allowed to play the course before a forsomes matchplay final?
I know you are not allowed to practice on the course before a stroke play comp, and I have found out that you can play before a singles matchplay but unsure about a foursomes matchplay final?

Match play is fine as far as I remember
Stroke play as you say isn't.

As said, you can play the competition course before a matchplay competition, but you can't play before a strokeplay competition

as previously stated by the other 2 guys you can play the course prior to a matchplay competition but not before a strokeplay comp regardless of format.

Ditto the others.

The rules differ between matchplay and strokeplay - not between differing forms of matchplay. It's to do with the fact in strokeplay you are playing against the course. In matchplay you are playing against an opponent. (& for opponent, read a single player or pair of players)
