rubiks cube......

The financial director in my old job came second in the British Rubiks cube championships (yes such a thing really exists) when he was a teenager.

Its basically a formula you follow. He could still do it in about 30 seconds. It was an inciredible display of dexterity and pointless skill.

I used to have instructions on how to finish it!!

But that was back in the 80's - got one for Xmas last year, but never really sat down to master it!

It's all about pitch and yaw, innit!

That's what the instructions said anyway, but having them ended months of frustration.

But in the end I did manage to do it without them and as Murph says, once you know the formula.

Roll, pitch and yaw !!!

We did (Seriously) used to complete it in less than 10 secs . My record was 8 point something.

Got 2.3 of the techqnique from a photocopied sheet i bought off a bloke on a stall in Romford market in about 1982, and then worked out a much more efficient way to finish off.

The common (but slow) technique is to do 1 side, then the middle then the bottom layer, but that is slow.
The speed techniques do 4 corners, then the opposite 4 corners, fill in the diagonals and then the middle.
