Rubbish Prizes Competition......Roll Up, Roll Up!

Following on from a post where Canfordhacker received two pairs of socks for winning the longest drive at a society day, what is the worst 'prize' you have received for your efforts in competition?

As a starter, I received a three pack of Pinnacle Gold FX Soft which I will put up as a prize for the worst (judged by me!)

Give it a week or so and I will choose a winner if anyone responds...

I was one of two people to get a magic two at my home course about 10 years ago. It was run as a sweep, 103 guys paid their sherrifs badge (50p) but we only got £15 each .... I was told the rest went on 'overheads' ????

I played in the Club Pro's comp, many many years ago, I never liked the club much or many of its members and attitudes, a club riddled with cliques and cheats.

Anyway it cost £5 to enter ( a very high price back then, but with top kit on offer for the prizes). I played some cracking golf 10 h/c and came in joint second, but third on countback. Now the stuffy committee took charge of the new pro's comp including the dishing out of prizes. Now you might think that 18 holes of great golf in a comp with prizes including, Top notch Golf Bag/ Golf shoes/New Driver/Trolley/Balls galore and cash that someone finishing equal second, third on countback in a field of over 100 and paid £5 to enter (we are talking mid 80s here)might receive a decent prize for such efforts?

Wrong!... I was a new boy, I had had a run in with a couple of committee members when I corrected them on etiquette earlier that year and guess who took over the New Pro's prize giving?

I got a Brolly that you could buy in Woolies for £3 that the pro probably got a lot cheaper buying a lot of them.

So I gave up my time, I travelled to the comp, I paid £5, I played 18 holes of great golf comming equal 2nd and I walked away with a £3 brolly that I did not need.

I could name this club and tell many a sordid story about its... err, gentlmanly approach to golf, but it might not be fair as the years can change things.

Im sure all Pro's are happy to pay to enter comps when the prizes are much less than the entry fee? I mean look at Tiger, poor lad must be skint now?

This same club I kept putting my name down for playing with the team and never got a look in all year. Then the following year they got desperate, having no one to play, so called me up at short notice, I nearly said F...err go away, but decided that I fancied meeting this lot.
I went out in the last pairing, my partner played rubbish and it was, without doubt, my golf that won the day and gave the team overall halved match. My partner got all the pats on the back, the 'well dones' and the thankyou's, I got Zip. Even at the meal later, it was the oposition who noticed and asked if I had killed one of their children or something, and after a few beers embarrassed them by pointing out who won the day for them and asked why they never even thanked the player who gave them the half!
You can tell you are at a really lousy club when it takes the oposition to recognise your efforts, when your own team are too busy with their hands down each others shorts. Now what was that clib called again???? (the spelling mistake may be a clue?)

Once won a bottle of chamoage in a Rotary Competition for nearest the pin. On the bottle it said'Donated by Bradford and Bingley Building Society'

Yesterday i won my local friday sweep, getting 3 "magic 2's" including an eagle, My total prize? £4, and 3 top flite - 1 for each 2. Paid £2.50 to enter the competition lol.....

A couple of years ago I attended a society at a course with quite a lot of water and the booby prize was a voucher to spend in the pro shop to get your ball retriever re-gripped.
