Royal Ascot - videos now live!

yes, go for it bob!

in fact if it's ready for retail why not send one in and we'll review for gadget of the month

I only say this as I am enjoying my five mins of fame - as one of the office's shorter hitters (Tappin can be anything up to 100 yards past me) this will most likely be the one and only long drive I win especially with Tappin in the field

MikeH now I feel bad you should have the trophy that you kindly donated to my second place drive, pride of place on your desk for all to see.

dont worry Harry - I have taped the Longest Drive sheet to the office wall on the bit that Tappin has to look directly at

me, childish? er maybe

Please do , I am one of the ones who does not know what this invention is ? If it helps count me in for 1.

Cheers

Midnight...

Midnight, its more for putting, chipping and aiming.
Having just seen your swing on the Ascot video, you must be a great putter lol. Just kidding.
You have a similar quirk to AliB. If you scroll up you will see the tip about the hollywood finish.
Give it a go, I promise it will help :)

Not quite ready for retail yet MikeH, but shouldn't be long now.
Sorry to hi-jack the thread.
I'm enjoying seeing all these swings

I couldn't get the ball to balance on the tee. I was trying those Zero Friction tees. And my conclusion is they cost way too much and make sod all difference also annoy the hell out of you on the tee trying to balance the ball.

Heavens to M Have you tried shortening your clubs by 18 inches? They'll fit in the dustbin more easily :D
Just kidding. Good second swing though. Less nerves?

Posture looked atrocious in my video but at least I sent it the required 229 yards onto the green. In my defence the pose was relief more than anything as the last time I played the hole in a medal it cost me an 8 so we had history.

Don't normally feel nervous on the tee but I guess knowing the cameras were rolling and the rest of the bunch were looking on made it harder than normal. Oh and the second swing had an air of " don't care I've blobbed this one" to it!! Instead of right it went left into the clag!

But check out my bunker shots in the pictures - best part of my game on the day!

Great video's, gutted i missed it.

Hywell, did you have a bit of trouble getting your tee in the ground?

Great to see everyones pre-shot routines, backwwoodsman, i'm intrigued, as someone who struggles with allignment i'm going to try that routine.

minty: Easy peasy. Decide where you want to hit it; pick noticeable mark or blemish on the ground in front of you; use club to line up ball, blemish, & target; stand back & use club to check alignment; set up square to line of ball & blemish; then hit ball somewhere completely different... Never fails.

My easy swing ended up about 12ft from the hole. No birdie, but an easy par to start. Odd thing is, it felt anything but easy. Half a back swing, no follow through, very nervy, and a bit tight. Was amazed to see how casual it looked on video. Nice little draw though. Most odd, and defo not me.

Also dead impressed with a couple of the photos of my swing too. It doesn't look nearly as bad as I thought. May be somewhere in me there is a golfer trying to get out.

First time I have ever seen my swing on video , very intresting , I thought I had half a swing , but this time I did not even take it back a quater. Plaenty too work on but still a cracking day.

Midnight...

How far do you hit the ball? And are you normally straight? Because if you are straight and get good distance then dont worry as you are more controlled in this way.

I guy down at our club plays professional rugby and has a half swing and absolutely mullers the ball past me and onto the short stuff.

Looked a great event guys hope you had lots of fun. I will attend the next one.

Sorry to seem like a kiss ass, but I actually thought that Paul O'Hagan had the best swing, although on this hole it sounds like Homers was the most effective.
