Rooney just a thug

Looks like we will have too but for the record having seen McCarthy (a midfielder) play several times I reckon he is about the same height as Rooney not that I see your that has anything to do with it mind.

rooney is one of the biggest c__ts to have played the game, just a mindless thug, and these so called twats, sorry experts saying we want to see eleven against eleven, all we want is a game ran as the rules state, just like golf.
the FA are a bunch of tossers just like FIFA and will not do anything to upset so called big players.
as for the respect campaign, what a f...ing joke. we can all lip read, but what happens when the ref is told where to go - nothing, spineless refs with spineless bosses.
nothing is going to improve, so another waste of time even reviewing it

shagster

I cannot beleive there is anyone even attempting to make a defence for this moron. As for the ref, jesus h, he should be sacked. Rooney should have been sent off immediately.

Clattenburg is just protecting himself.

He doesn't want to admit that he didnt really see it properly and should never have awarded the free kick.

Had he not given the free kick he would have quite happily said that further action should be taken

Funny how he didn't get a ban ruling him out of the Liverpool, Chelseas and potentially Arsenal (FA Cup) games. I can't beleive no one at the FA wouldn't have known their next three games were these and the impact it would have. Sadly or inevitably (or maybe both) someone will do a Keane and go for him one day. He is too petulant and thuggish and someone will make a name for themselves and get retribution

THats the first of me seeing and can i just say Dodger your talking out of your backside again.

Yes Mccarthy steps out to block him but Rooney's elbow is far too high it's almost above his head. Bit far fetched to claim that he is trying to get past Mccarthy. Rooney is jumping off the ground leading with the elbow.

It seems outwith ManU the only person who agrees with you is Adrian Durham. I think that says it all

If it had beem Lee McCulloch on Scot Brown on Wednesday night I think you would say different and would require "clarification " on the decision

It appears Stuart that I am correct in my pussy statement.

His elbow, regardless of how high it was or not, brushes the wee turncoat and is in no way a forearm smash as so many have far fetchedely said........You also miss out the fact the games governing body agree with me.

If an incident like that happens tomorrow night I can only hope that Broony carries it off in the correct way not the half hearted brush past that is Rooneys. :D

Dodger get down to specsavers you are obviously not able to see properly, this was a blatant attempt to hurt the guy with his elbow. Not a forearm smash. As i said before he could have broke his jaw.Imo the F/A have bottled it.

Not sure how much he caught him, but I hope that when it happens to Rooney, he doesn't fall to the ground like he has been shot, but stands up and takes it as McCarthy has done. My guess is Rooney would milk this for all it's worth. Heck, he dives without even being touched most of the time.

I think Mr Dodger is on the wind up.

Anyone who follows football knows that this incident, in any other game, would have resulted in a straight red for the player leading with his elbow.

Heck, I've seen games where the players hand has brushed an opponents face and he's been shown a red card.

The top clubs in the Premier League get a huge amount of leniency - always have, always will.

Genuinely I am not on the wind up!

I feel that maybe my reputation as a dirty *** when I played was maybe justified as I honestly can't see what the big fuss is about especially when you compare it to Ryan Taylor's assault on Elmander at the weekend...........we've heard hee haw about that and that WAS worthy of press time but then again he does play for a diddy team hence the reason no one cares.

You're old though! Your era was the Chelsea/Leeds FA Cup final in '71 - just about anything was allowed then. Times have changed Dodger - football's going the way of basketball - non contact.

I loved the documentary on the Predators. Craig Johnson kept banging on about how he wanted to make a boot that aided young players and that they would be affordable.

Yep, nailed that one Craigy - Adidas knock them out for £125 a pair!

I used to love football - the last few years it's become almost unwatchable. I don't understand why a grown man - a professional athlete at that, would want to fall down at the slightest contact. In my opinion, it makes them a laughing stock - only to me it seems.

My SKY Sports subscription gone (although I do miss the golf).

HID's pleased though

100 per cent correct, out of all the games I have seen live over maybe the last 7/8 years there is only 1 that stands out and that was Leeds v Norwich a week ago, good honest football and not 1 person tumbled in the 90 minutes even though there was some good quality hard tackling going on..........sadly it'll probably be another ten years til the next one!! :(
