Rooney just a thug

Ah the old Adidas predator boots. Not much use to me though being in goal. I think it is more the question of intent that's the issue from my point of view rahter than the end result. Clearly there was a deliberate go at striking the player albeit fleeting

Law 12 is quite clear that striking or attempting to strike an opponent is a direct free kick and a red card is issuable for violent conduct. In this instant Clattenburk saw it as striking the opponent but didn't deem it violent conduct and I assume saw it more as a coming together and Rooney trying to muscle past.

Having refereed Saturday and Sunday football if you took the strict letter of the law on this you'd never get a completed game. However in a professional game like this I think having seen it to award the kick with the ball not in playing distance at the time surely it can't be anything other than violent conduict which isa straight red.

Am I the only one who cannot see what the big fuss is??

For me he is trying to get past someone who has taken a step towards him to block him.............come on,it is hardly a 'forearm smash'!!

Nothing to answer to in my opinion.

Seems to me this game is watched and played by pussies nowadays.....

If you want a talking point start with the assault that was Taylors 'Tackle' in the Toon game!! :o

Your point being anti-NUFC person??

Taylor was given a straight red-CORRECT decision.END OF.

Rooney gets vilified for a nothing incident,Taylor gets a red card and little press for a tackle that could have finished a mans career..........a red card is nowhere near enough to deal with that assault and that goes for many of these cowardly type tackles not just Taylors.
