Robbed..... Literally, by thieving French golf course - Golf D'Omaha Beach

Am now back with PC access, to catch up, and answer a few questions. The weather forecast was showers, and only started raining when we were halfway there, unfortunately, wasn't a shower and didn't stop for a long time. I did pay on arrival, and in hindsight, maybe should have held off until after we'd eaten, but was still hoping it would abate rather than getting progressively worse.

I'm usually pretty good at handling these sorts of situations, but was so shocked at the time that they wouldn't refund, the brain just didn't compute. I did call the credit card company immediately after getting into the car, but was informed that they are unable to do anything for 30 days. The payment had already been approved and this was standard procedure to stop people walking into shops, buying large items and then trying to get their money back whilst holding on to the goods. I'd have to fill in some forms and wait 30 days for them to investigate, but there was no guarantee that I'd get my money back.....

On Saturday evening, I received an email from the manager at Omaha Beach, he was most apologetic, apparently he was away on the day and was not happy with the decision taken in his absence. He has offered me a full refund which will be in the form of a cheque sent to me today. Not sure why he can't refund against the credit card, or do an electronic transfer, but, I'll take the cheque and see what happens. He also offered to welcome me personally to the club for a round next time I'm over.

Hopefully this has resolved itself, I'll let it lie assuming that the cheque arrives and the money subsequently arrives in my bank account after cashing it.
