I take it we keep quite about the Castle Stuart course?
The other 3 course were excelent if a bit tough with the heather and gorse.
Well done to Vig for organsing our trip and to Smiffy for the sore sides with the laughter.
the company was excelent, Anthony and Phil kept us all amused with Rob and Ray providing the double act of the year.
thank you lads for the entertainment, here's to the next one.

Hi Chris
I thought the Castle Stuart course was fantastic mate, despite not playing my best golf after the 6th hole... :o :o :o
I remember walking down the 6th fairway and saying to Ray that it had to be in my all time top 3 courses, and that view hasn't changed since the day.
Tough but fair. Not a lot of trouble if you were hitting the ball reasonably well, but if you were unfortunate enough to hit a "horror" then all kinds of trouble awaited you.
I personally found Boat of Garten to be much tougher.
Very tight fairways where you had to know your way around to score well, and if you ventured off of them then it was blob county.
A lot of hanging lies or situations where the ball was above your feet, and some of the elevations in the fairways left a bit to be desired. You were sometimes limited to hitting a 7 or 8 iron despite you needing more purely for the rise of fairway in front of you!
I'd go back to Castle Stuart in the blink of an eye though. I think we were very lucky to get it on the day we did. I'd hate to be out there in a 40mph wind with the rain tipping down. She was asleep while we were there!
And thanks for your company too mate. A great laugh, couldn't have picked 4 nicer guys to meet up with and share the moment.
;)

Hi Guys,

Anthony (Smiffy) if you thought Boat was tough, you must come and play Tain ;)

Longer, windier and tighter fairways on a lot of the holes.

Golspie Too, its always windy there, but you can play off the beach if the tides out.

Yep, great course tough most of the time, standard scratch is normally at least 3 shots over par.

Made me a much better player when i play away opens.

If you fancy a game here let me know, £6 for guests :p
