Maybe the subject of Israel’s behaviour is formally off limits to Labour MP’s whilst it seeks to rebuild its relationship with the Jewish community.

The sad thing is that anything seen as being critical of Israel is spun as being antisemitic even though Israel has one of the most evil regimes in the world - but they’re on “our” side so they get a free pass.
Or maybe Starmer is concentrating on the Labour Party he wants and is not influenced by any other leader or party.Agreed. I get massively irritated by this.
Don't see anything wrong with what Peake said. RLB was naive however in retweeting it, but she doesn't come across as the brightest.
Starmer playing to the gallery, no doubt influenced by Johnson's unwillingness to take any action when ministers (or Cummings) step out of line.
Left wing MPs demanding meeting with the boss. He still has one of the more toxic ones as his deputy IMO.
... she is useless and another product of the old regime. So this gave Starmer an opportunity too good to miss.

Is the truth also off limits?Maybe the subject of Israel’s behaviour is formally off limits to Labour MP’s whilst it seeks to rebuild its relationship with the Jewish community.
...and I'd suggest it should be especially off limits for Labour front-benchers...Maybe the subject of Israel’s behaviour is formally off limits to Labour MP’s whilst it seeks to rebuild its relationship with the Jewish community.
Starmer simply can't let himself be open to any accusation whatsoever of doubt over his determined antisemitism purge within the Labour party. No matter what mitigations were pleaded for RLB, if he had not acted as he did the Tories and right wing press would have been all over him on this like a rash. Anything to divert attention from the government's management of the pandemic response, and something that Johnson would immediately start using in PMQs to attack Starmer rather than answer difficult questions from him.Agreed. I get massively irritated by this.

Are you forgetting the last time this happened in Labour? Militant Tendency? Kinnock brought about the change, it led to 3 terms for Blair. A split in Labour will make them more electable, not put any nails in coffins. This is the start of a split in the Labour party, the far left will not be happy about this and unless Starmer cools thing down when he meets his party later today or Monday, I can see others standing behind LB.
Great news for the country as it means they have no chance of getting into power if they split, not that had much chance anyway, but a big nail in the coffin of the Labour Party unless he pulls a magic rabbit out of the hat.
Mustn't forget that Labour cannot - in all likely England and Wales scenarios - get back into power for as long a the Scottish Labour Party flounders around as it is, and the main opposition to the SNP is Jackson Carlaw's SCUP.This is the start of a split in the Labour party, the far left will not be happy about this and unless Starmer cools thing down when he meets his party later today or Monday, I can see others standing behind LB.

The whole Labour anti semitism 'issue' was always completely bogus..
And so has Starmer. I even think Cornyn and McDonnell admitted it too ( through gritted teeth)Yeah, so why did Labour Central Office formally acknowledge it? (eventually)

because any criticism of Isreal is defined as Anti SemitismI would tend to agree with this.
Has anyone checked if the Israeli Special Forces connection is true.?
Because if it is true , how can the truth be anti Jewish?
