RIP Tom Weiskopf

To those of us who remembered golf back in the 1970s this man was up there with the best. RIP Tom.

The 13th at Fulford golf club in York is named after him. In 1989, playing in the Benson & Hedges tournament he eagled the hole, that was 489 yards long and birdied it twice more the same week. He won the tournament by 1 shot from Bernard Langer who famously played a shot from the tree by the 17th green the same week.

His playing days were a bit before my time, but certainly know his post playing career better. Another one gone.
