RIP Paddy

My daughter was quite a bit shocked by the news last night. She is a good friend with someone very close to him and they were all out to dinner only a few weeks ago. Her friend has been ferrying Paddy's wife to and from the hospital since he went in so I also very sorry for her.

A politician who was willing and able to make big and difficult decisions. Brave enough to do the right thing for the wider and longer good, as opposed to the easier short termism that benefits only self or those closest.

Former Bootneck and SBS Officer. Total respect to the man.
Stand at ease Sir. RIP

I remember him praising the opposition on several occasions for doing the right thing rather than continuously slagging them off like everyone else does. Not many politicians do that. Came across as a principled man, would have made a good PM in my opinion.

RIP Paddy.

You are not alone  how soon they forget ehhh.
Perhaps not so principled then.

Yeah.

Of course a great man, hero of the British armed forces, elite soldier of one of the worlds most fearsome special forces, defender against Yugoslavian tyranny and fighter for the rights of British men and women becomes a nobody just because he dipped the wick.

Whoop de woo honestly.

It’s his personal life of which should be irrelevant but unfortunately the Scum red top media and they social inbreds that grab the headlines use it to judge a person’s political ability even after he passes away - think it says it all about you and the other poster.
