To me The Prodigy were just one of the best bands of my generation. Crossed so many music types and were so good live. Sad to hear that Keith Flint died today at only 49, rumoured to have taken his own life. Not many 'celebrity' deaths have any form of impact on me but having followed The Prodigy since they started out (played a ball at my university back in 1991) this came as a sad shock.

He was genuinely iconic when Firestarter and Breathe came out. I saw them only once, several years ago at Milton Keynes bowl, it was a fantastic show. RIP.

Having Googled it, that must have been 2010 I saw them. Nine years ago, wow.

shame for anyone to take their own life.

not really that much of a fan, but did see them when they headlined Glastonbury in 97 i think it was, they did a good set, strange to think that was over 20 years ago:(

I am actually genuinely shocked at this, celebrity deaths don't really impact or register with me usually. But this one has as I grew up on their music, albums like the Experience, Music for Jilted Generation and then the slight change in style with Fat of the Land are probably my 3 most played albums of all time.

Saw them live several times and every time was superb. RIP Keith Flint I'm actually gutted about this one and in such a sad way to, will also reach out to Motorcycle racing fans as his team he owned won 4 Isle of Man TTs..

A sad day this..

Music For a Jilted Generation was, and still is, always in my car ready for a listen. Was only listening to Invaders Must Die at the weekend (the intro to that song is also my ringtone). Treuly gutted.

Same here it's on my most played albums on Spotify plus I have a selection of their songs for my gym play lists which get used almost daily.. Was hoping to see them later in the year as well as they were going back in tour, genuinely gutted about it

Seen them live many times, quite possibly the best band I've ever seen live. Sad news indeed but no sader than anyone else's death.

Same here, planned to see them again on their next tour. Life lesson for me there, don't put things off, do them whilst you still can.

Remember going away to Spain with my family and my best mate. Pretty certain we played the Experience album about 100 times that week. One of the main introductions to house/rave music.
