Truly a British great. The emotion on his face in one shot at the end of the Long Good Friday will go down in history.

just heard this sad news in the office, and thats exactly what I just told someone about how good an actor he was, from shock through fear to acceptance and remorse all captured in facial expressions over 60 seconds- genious.
p.s The assassin there was Pierce Brosnan, 60 seconds of staring and holding a gun...done very well.

Harold: No one's heard nothing? That just ain't natural. It's like one of them silent, deadly farts. No clue, and then pow, you go cross-eyed.

Harold: Who's having a go at me? Can you think of anyone who might have an old score to settle or something?

Razors: Who's big enough to take you on?

Harold: Well, there were a few.

Razors: Like who?

Harold: Yeah, they're all dead.

The Mafia?

I S***T em

:D

What actors around now a days can fill his boots?

Gruff, short and stocky. A real bloke and a mans man

Dont normally do RIP threads, but will make an exception in Mr Hoskins case

Heard this on the radio before - terrible news. Only 71 too.

The word Legend is often over used, but I think it's perfectly apt here. A proper Legend of the UK film industry.

RIP.

I remember him being interviewed after doing Who Framed Roger Rabbit and he was asked how he made it look like he was looking at Roger when he wasn't there. He said he had watch his daughter (I think) playing with her imaginary friends and copied what she did.

A true British movie great and will be missed by many.
RIP

That's the first scene I thought of when I heard the news and my abiding memory of a legend. Who can also forget Roger Rabbit?
