Just been onto Gatwick Airport's website to book some car parking and stumbled across this. Basically you can earn up to £160 per week renting your car out whilst you ae on holiday. Seriously? I can't think of anything less appealing. The thought of someone running round in my car whilst I'm on holiday would fill me with deep concern. Would anyone here chance it?

Long gone, and there is no way I am renting out the replacement. £160 would not rent it for an hour, let alone a week.

I saw that, and it made me wonder who actually does it.

Even if the money was a lot more, I don't think I'd want someone driving round in my car. It would also be a huge hassle, as the car would need to be "sterile", where usually I would stay in a hotel either before or after my holiday. so would leave the items for this part of the trip in the car. Then there is the hassle if someone has an accident, gets a parking ticket or caught speeding in your car, as you will have to do the admin, and don't know the driver, so have to deal with a middleman to resolve all this.

It sounds like a good idea in principle, but in practice, I struggle to see who would bother.

You must go away an awful lot to cover the additional insurance costs.
