Take a normal practice swing with the driver and just after "impact" take your right hand off the club. Do this SLOWLY at first and then increase the speed as you get used to it. :D

Excellent question Dtm, you've pipped me to it!

Very droll roccokj!

I logged on burning to ask the same question.
Just been trying out the woods at a local golf store. I got to go on the virtual driving range type thing. It measures evrything (not your inside leg measurement though!)
Anyway, The in store pro watched me hit a few and the analysis that the machine spat out was that I was slightly out to in at impact and generally impacting with an open clubface.
The pro suggested I try to be a bit more active with my hands and aim to release more upon impact.
Apart from standing in the kitchen with an iron doing the 3 to 9 o'clock drill are there any other drills to forge a good hand release during impact.
If I get this right I am relatively confident that my ugly push/slice may be on it's way to being defeated! :)

Swing the club around you at waist height (like a base ball bat). You will see how your hands and forearms rotate through impact to turn the club over.

Homer - a drill to stop releasing the hands is to hit punch shots with a very abbreviated follow through. Make a conscious effort to keep the club face square through impact for as long as possible. This delays the release. You need to do this if you want to hit proper fades.

To improve clubhead release split your hands so there is a 3" gap between them on the grip then swing - you'll immediately get the feeling of the right hand releasing.

Conversely if you want to stop releasing then swing with the hands clasped together on the grip - this gives a good feel of the hands working together, very hard to release the clubhead doing this.

These are both quite good quick on-course remedies if driver is misbehaving.
