Rees-Mogg...

Just listened to R-M give a most sneering, condescending and supercilious reply to a question raised by Alistair Carmichael in the HoC. I suspect it's just as well that Carmichael wasn't within striking distance of that utter charlatan. Leader of the House?

I do struggle at times as I must support the government in this time of crisis - but with characters such as R-M on their front bench spouting as he just did - nobody should need ask why.

I had to turn it off, his affected mannerisms are utterly repellent.

just checking... is that a description of RM or Carmichael ??

It was.

And of course I might well be quite mistaken, but I have a little suspicion that the idea of getting MPs back into the HoC is simply a not very subtle ruse to provide Johnson with a hootin' and hollerin' audience on the benches behind for him to play to. Seems to me that Johnson continues to miss the sycophantic audience affirmation of his brilliance, ahem, as an orator.

Or maybe R-M is indeed actually concerned about the quality of debate in the 'part-virtual' HoC.

Tell you what though. Any amount of R-M spouting his stuff is sufficient to have me turning off.

Just relieved he seems to be out of the picture since the ERG lost their position of leverage over govt along with DUP, those voices became unimportant in commons arithmetic post GE.
Haven't seen anything of JRM for months, or Francois thankfully.

Indeed - though I did have the misfortune of having to listen to both a Marcus Fysh interview and an Andrew Bridgen one a couple of weeks back...but I don;t seem to have suffered great or lasting damage.

Yet you watched and listened, sounds familiar
