Had the weirdest of rounds today.

Got out of work a bit early and teed off at 4.

Stood on the 1st tee, driver in hand, it just felt all wrong. Grip felt wrong, practice swing was all over the place, felt off balance etc etc. Almost like I'd never held a club before.

Addressed the ball and nothing felt right.

Stood back up checked my grip, stance, alignment, posture. Everything looked ok, but it all just felt wrong.

I teed off anyway, horrible jerky cut off swing and I almost fell over. Ball got away ok, straight but about 60 yards shorter than normal.

Carried on playing, every shot just felt really awkward. I can't explain it. It was soo weird. :D

Things started to come back together on the back 9, but by then my round was in tatters. Thank god my putting was working well, or it could have been truly shocking

Has this happened to anyone else ?

It's a shame. I enjoyed the round. The course was practically empty and the sun was out for most of it with a nice light breeze. We had rain forecast for today, but it didn't show. So I guess everyone stayed away.

Been playing and practicing regularly. I've had off rounds before, where I haven't hit it well, posted a garbage score.

But this was something else. Everything just wrong, it's the only way I can describe it.

I felt fine, wasn't ill or anything. Just soo odd.

I've had that feeling at the range before where I've gone excited about working on my game and spent the whole session looking for a swing that worked. I've had a few similar things early morning rounds when I've not warmed up properly and have stood on the 1st stiff and feeling very uncomfortable over the ball. It normally goes once I loosen up after a couple of holes

I once came to course and I really struggled to get a good feel for my shots, my arms felt really light. I had the week off and I played a lot of golf before that round. I forgot about it though after 6 holes after I hooked up with somebody.

Almost everytime I play with you guys on here.

Don't know whether it is the craic or my couldn't care less attitude.

I promise, one day to put my serious head on. Top shelf in the head cupboard ;)

I have had days like these. Sometimes I feel like throwing a wobbly because there is naff all I can do about it!

Usually, its my feet, they feel like lead weights when I am trying to get them into the right position!

I have never had a whole round like this, but sometimes during the odd shot I get over the ball and it does just feel wrong. I do know the feeling. You just can't escape it despite much waggling, re gripping, re adressing etc and the most annoying thing is when you do eventually force yourself to swing when you get to the top you just know it is going wrong / it feels like you are in the wrong position but you carry on and inevitably hit a poor shot! I had it for a run of about a dozen balls during a really good range session today. I just started feeling strange about everything, as you described and could do nothing about it until it sort of cured itself. It is disastrous on the course when it bares its head so I have sympathy with you.
