Real wood kitchen worktops.

Our light oak work tops have been down for 6 years, not a mark on them and have never oiled them.
I think they have some sort of sealer on them though.

Avoid real wood like the plague - need high maintenance

Granite all day long ....... marvelous

HID has got her heart set on a walnut worktops in the new kitchen but all the reviews I've read tend to say avoid due to the initial set up and maintenance.

Anyone have these and would recommend over laminate?

Urban myth for me.
Treat it properly when initially fitted and you have a beautiful worktop for many years.
Of course it can be re-treated every year or so, but really doesn't have to .................... unless it's been abused.
