I've almost finished reading my latest book and am now looking to replace with another once finished.

This time I'm considering a good instructional book but wish to keep things relatively simple.

Would the Ben Hogan's Five Lessons The Modern Fundamentals of Golf be a god purchase? I've seen several references to this book which in the main seem to review well.
Also considered Dave Pelz Putting Bible but have heard it's a wee bit involved.

Any advice guys?

I thought Colin Montgomeries book was an easy read and not too technical. He talks a lot about good course management and when he plays in Pro-ams, how he could reduce players scores by at least 4 or 5 shots, by thinking their way round better.

Golfmmad.

I have the Hogan book and refer to it often - I would say that is is based on a total restructure and 'method' of swinging a club from grip, stance, swing plane etc - not something you can dip in and out of.

If you want to go for the Hogan method then it is an excellent book with very good and plentiful illustrations. The language is a bit old fashioned at times, but I don't mind this.
