Ah for goodness sake...there was me just early last week having a laugh at his expense reflexting upon his Hampden howler. He was a great keeper. Quite a battle for supremacy he and Shilton had for many years. I know my uncle (when he was Liverpool’s bank manager) knew him well and spoke of him well.
A fantastic keeper. Felt sorry for him in terms of his England career and unlucky to have so many other top keepers at that time. One of the keepers that inspired me when I decided to join the keepers union and I'd try and watch as much of him on TV as possible to see what he did
What with dear old Des as well today 2020 is the year that keeps on crapping on us
He was before my time but my auld fella loved him, definitely our greatest keeper. He missed 6 games in 11 seasons, some record that for a cat when it was 42 league games a season.
