so I have finally got a day off, couldnt go to the course as theirs a winter league comp thingy on this morning and I am not in it due to recent work commitments. Housework nearly done, should I go for 9 (possibly 18 if I get my skates on) after lunch or hit the range, not hit a ball in anger for 2 weeks and got a few big rounds coming up soon.

9/18 holes = proper golf, all round practice but am sure it will be a bit boggy due to recent weather

Range = got a few things to work on & a G10 driver I have yet to hit

what would you do?

If you've got specific things to work on, AND a new driver to hit, got to be the range...

see I was thinking that but then I can goto the range in the week after work.

Must motivate myself, been a lazy git since the cold weather and done nothing :)

i'd go to the course, its a nice day... range is more of an evening thing for me

playing the course is better for my swing, helps on my alignment and concentration,
i can get a bit sloppy at the range, just hitting balls for the sake of it

course, just do 9 holes and treat it as practice, maybe play 2 balls? experiment with your driver etc with one and play safely with the other, its a nice day, make the most of it :)

Go and do nine holes. As you have a new driver take some rubbish balls as well. Hit your good ball and a few of the rubbish balls off the tee(you don't need to bother looking for the rubbish balls). Just play the one ball from fairway to green. That way you get to have a round of golf and practise the driver too.

I am with that, nice day for the course take them while you can.

Hands have just defrosted after 9 holes... Great day of golf though shooting only +4 with two drops. For me this is an achievement.

At this time of year and usually having a part of the game that is not going so well, I opt for for the range.

A nice summers evening definitely 9 holes
