Ramside Hall Cathedral Course

Aye report back as it's local to me and fancy playing it too.

How much is the greenfee?

Sure I read it was £45 but that might just be during the summer.

It that their new course??
I played up there a couple of years ago when they still only had 27 holes on 1-18. I dont know if know they've improved the drainage, but it wasn't really handling the water all that well and pretty boggy in a lot of places.
That said, it was the summer of 2012 when we were having biblical storm after biblical storm....

Aye they have got a brand new 18 holes that opened at the end of summer.

From what I saw of it last time I was there in June it looks really nice.

Yup,
its the brand new layout and the green fees are £80 for a four ball or £100 with a coffee and bacon butty.
Will let everyone know what its like tomorrow night, looking forward to it as the weather seems to be thawing out. Yesterday was a nightmare at Wearside with all the icy tee boxes.

I played it in October in a society bash, it'd been wet and the course was fairly muddy in places, tee's and greens were fine. It's a long course, or at least played long that day but a good layout, incorporating the older 9 hole course.

Sure it wasn't the older course you played?

The new Cathedral course is a full new 18 holes and a different type/style of course.

No we played the Cathedral but it incorporates the old 9 hole course in amongst the new layout, the first hole on the new layout was the second on the nine hole layout, a fairly tight driving par 5. And the first tee is a long walk from the clubhouse too...

Ah right I thought it was a completely new course, I knew it's up near where the old 9 of the original cathedral used to be but thought they had built over them.

Me and the old man are looking for a game Saturday so might give it a try depending on the ops feedback.

I had the old 9 holes in my GPS but not the new ones, there were no distance markers apart from the discs in the middle of the fairways, and I'll never be accused of wearing those out  so I had GPS on half the holes...

Ramside 4 Man Team Open, £60.00 per Team, 22-03-15, could be cheap option to play a decent course

Golf Buddy, but other lads had other makes and no one had it, I requested it strait after the round via the website but don't know if they take any notice of those.

I know it's now been walked/mapped by Skycaddie, I think other brands just go from satalite images/maps.

Just checked and it's available on Skycaddie.

I think all other GPS manufactures have to wait till satalite images/maps are updated as they don't actually go out and walk/map the course like Skycaddie do.
