nipped into DAVE CLARKS shop today for a cuppa and a bacon sarnie ( don't tell the misses!) and some lads coming off the course were saying it was very wet, bring clean socks.

is this the one called the north west national? I might be able to make it

Yeah but dont think there would be many courses around here without standing water after last nights downpour..

I played it about 4 weeks ago after night of rain and there was standing water in places and on the greens but the course was playing ok.
Was on full greens and tee mats but no fairway mats and still dont think there is as ive not seen any1 with them wen ive been to the range...

The practice green is an experience, there isnt a flat putt on it and theres a good 10 holes to go at lol....

Would have joined you but im in work all day, maybe next time ;)

That practise green is fantastic. The top end is a bit flatter than the bottom end. But if you want some real fun try the chipping area. I used it for an hour during the summer and still didnt manage to get a ball to stay on the hard green.. Madness. The shop is fairly fully stocked now that the Clarkes have taken over (They run the shop at my course as well.) I haven't played the course and would have joined you but Im working tonight. It is very VERY wet around there though. I was on the range this afternoon and the drive past Houghwood to Rainford had quite a few large puddles (flooded roads).

really enjoyed that today. the course requires alot of thinking. plenty of water about. good greens. will definitly be back.

i was wasting my time at the range after. wind really picked up and was blowing hard off the left! it was hard to know if i was hitting good shots or not.

nice to meet scouser and louise was a pleasure once again ! cheers chaps :)
