Died, aged 80. Leader of Prog Rock band The Strawbs. Incredibly talented musician with a distinctive, haunting voice. "Hero & Heroine" is one of my all time favourite albums. Not only was he a musician but, for a time, ran radio stations & worked as a marketing consultant.

Degree in maths from Leicester University.

In 2023 Leicester University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Music.

Although he wrote much of the Strawbs stuff, he had no part in writing that one. First recording of it did not feature him at all.

Loved The Strawbs back in the day, had several of their albums, From the Witchwood was my favourite.
