Quilted Bodywarmers, Golf Atire or Not?

There have been quite a few comments recently on what is acceptable to wear on the course and what is not. Today at the club there has been an outbreak of quilted bodwarmers, shooting jackets and such like. There were always one or two of the more excentric seniors who wore them but there were dozens on the course today.

I am not sure that I would class them as golfing atire but wondered what the view on here was.

Personally I'm never without a quilted body warmer in the winter months. They keep the body warm but no restriction around the arms by being bundled up with too many layers, the additional pockets come in handy too.

A lot of our lady members seem to go for this look although I've never seen them stocked in the pro shop. Not sure I could play in one but I don't see it as a huge dress code violation. At this time of year whatever keeps you warm enough to be out playing is my motto

Homer, I don't see how they could be even a small dress code violation to be honest, collared shirt or polo neck underneath then what does it matter?

I've got a good few gilets, fleece ones, windproof ones but no quilted ones!

I'm not arguing. However there will be some that will argue that it has no place on a golf course even with obligatory golf shirt or jumper underneath. Personally I've no issue with them. Not for me and mainly a thing for the ladies at our club (not seen any gents in them) but definitely not against the dress code as far as I'm concerned

I just bought a woolen jacket type thing with a fleece lining from Costco.. It's lovely and warm with less padding in the sleeves allowing me to swing freely.

And I don't give a rodents rear end what people think of me while I'm on the golf course all nice and toasty.

LOL - I did rather make it sound as though I have one permanently welded to my body!
