Afternoon all, my car , a Nissan Qashqai, is three years old in January and hence out of it's warranty. My local dealership have quoted me £1207 for an additional 3 years of extended warranty. Is that reasonable as it seems pricey to me ??? Also , is it a standard price or would it be worth speaking to another Nissan dealership ??? Any advice would be appreciated .

Pm smiffy I'm sure he'll advise. He was at a Nissan dealer so he'll know the ins and outs of the deal.

Service department, it's only done 33k although i'm not sure if that makes any difference or not ?

Did you buy your Qashqai from that dealership? It may be worth approaching the sale department (and the salesman that sold you the car if he is still there) and asking them. But don't tell them how much the service department quoted you...;)

I have asked a mate of mine on sales at SLM how much they would charge you for a 3 year Nissan warranty by the way, will let you know once I hear back. But that price you were quoted was a bit extortionate

From what a friend of mine has said about the current Nissan standard production( Quashqai,s needing engines, Jukes needing gearboxes) I would be trying to find something to cover me.

I'd agree with you if you are talking about the 1.2TP engines or the earlier CVT gearboxes. Newer CVT gearboxes aren't affected quite as much.
