To me, transition begins before you complete your backswing. My weight has already started to shift before the club reaches the top, this is a natural movement with just about any form of ball hitting or throwing actions

Think of a child sitting on a swing.
It will swing one way, slow down and appear to stop.
Then it moves the other way.
I always played my best golf when I separated the backswing from the downswing with a slight, miniscule pause.
