Was a definate red for me, but I'm a bit biased. What I couldn't understand was how a team with players like Townsend and Remy can be at the bottom of the league. I was impressed with their play today, if not their composure.

Not a red for me, the Wigan player put his head down to head the ball away and Zamora had every right to raise his foot to win the ball.

There was no intent to hurt the player and imo it was a yellow at most for a late/mistimed tackle.

It wasn't reckless or dangerous imo.

Yup, down to about 5 feet off the deck instead of 6! And there doesn't need to be any intent for dangerous play. That was a red all day long, the biggest giveaway being that even 'Arry the Envelope couldn't defend his own player!

Deffo a red far worse than Nani's challenge. With regards to the Scottish cup final incident the other player was asking for trouble celebrating right in front of the guys face, don't make it right but I can understand his reaction

Could easy have resulted in Zamora's studs in the other guys eye. Go for a ball with your boot at that level and no matter what part of the opponents body you hit - it's going to be sore and potentially very dangerous.

You saw the expressions on the faces of the young lads sitting in the stand not 15 ft away - absolutely horrified. They saw and could feel the impact and instantly knew it was not good.
