PXG

Why do people get so upset when others spend their money on what they want to?

As for the clubs they do look very nice in the flesh, the driver finish reminds me of the Cleveland Classic XL

Cost wise frankly I could not care what people spend on golf gear. Cost wise changing clubs frequently will cost more than a set of these.

I look at it with irons and any clubs really, the gains for new clubs are so limited if you bought these you could have them for years.

Not likely to buy them myself but would really like to have a look and maybe a hit or two.

Personally couldn't care less what people spend their hard earned on, I was simply giving my opinion that, based on performance, they are vastly overpriced

As are most "luxury" items and you won't get 5x the performance either. To say they have more money than sense is a bit unfair

Clubs for the people who have diamond encrusted Rolex and matching iPhones, if you make it expensive and exclusive people will buy it no matter if it's any good or not

Well I play with two guys who have the irons and hybrids and your description could not be further from the truth.

Are you equally as sneering towards those that drive prestige cars rather than a Ford, Vauxhall, Volvo etc;?

Or is it a case of envy?

The two guys in question are both in their sixties and have worked hard throughout their lives. They are now in positions where they can afford to treat themselves, where is the issue?

As for the clubs I can say they are quality kit. Beautifully made, tailored to the individual and the "feel" is superb.

Friend of Brother in Law has the full set of irons - I'm personally not a fan of the look but have had a swing with them and they feel pretty good to an untrained person. He said the process of the fitting was very good and custom fit for every iron.

PXG have done an incredible job of making their products preform from the word go. They are as good as anything on the market but not better.

They all feel lovely, I would say the wedges stood out to me but all stock bounce options.

I too think they are ugly, basically they liked what the prototype hacks looked like so kept it.

Big Ping influence as that's where most of the engineers came from.

Unlike other OEMs the R&D budget is open and thus you pay for the R&D budget plus profit. That is meant to be the pull, they are not built to appeal to the masses.

Saw a lad who had the full works when we played at Tralee in October, he was maybe late 50's but a class player ,the ball flight he had on every shot was piercing ,he said he got fully fitted but the price wasn't an issue, probably about 4k worth of gear in his bag

i hit some today. they look spot on for what i desire in an iron as far as top line, off set and head size. whilst performance was great too it wasnt above and beyond anything else out there. a rich mans toy! why not
