Iv never been fitted for a putter in fact not even for clubs and rely solely on what feels nice...
Im currently using a 2 ball with a double bend shaft but as iv documented on here before im struggling with distance control with it....I tend to leave a good few putts too short....
Then on the next few i might give it a little extra only to find it fly past the hole...

Iv always had this issue with the 2 ball ever since i bought it...
Before that i had a half moon mallet but i was flaky with it from 3 and 4 feet....Which had me buy the 2 ball.....

If i could get my hands on a putter that had the best of both worlds id be sorted but is there such....
I seem to have better control over distance with a metal faced putter and get a better roll on ones that have either horizontal lines or knurls.....

Scotty's are out they are just too dear and i couldnt justify spending that kind of money on a putter....
Can anyone recommend a nice forgiving putter without an insert?

Im partial to mallets as long as they are not huge.
I love the look of blades but i get twitchy on short putts with them...

I have a slight arc in my putting stroke so i think that experts recommend a toe hang putter.

Have a look on clubhouse golf at the taylormade Kia ma range all solid block milled face putters and only £79 reduced from £249 2010 launch price, genuine quality putters only blades I think though.

Well Homer iv got a bit of collateral....Im selling my Ping i15 driver so i can back this with a few bob for a decent putter....
I was looking at Clevelands Black Platinum series in our local shop....They look nice and are also pretty cheap at 70 euro's....

I would love a scotty but there crazy money and iv also got to get a carry bag so im trying to stretch the shillings a small bit.

Odyssey Fang 7 putter but the white hot xg version

Superb putter but takes a few putts to learn the pace, best putter for mallet style bar none

I can vouch for the Clevelands, I've got the Classic #1 and it is beautiful on smooth quick greens. In fact, I've also got a Scotty Newport 2 which looks almost identical and the Cleveland is better, softer feel off the face and better weighted.

Most mallets are face-balanced...
If you want a slight toe-hang on a not huge mallet then the Ping B60 might be worth a shot.
As would the Piper S, face balanced but a lovely putter. You can get it in the expe.sive Redwood or the cheaper Karsten range.
Or if you want a bigger mallet then they do a Craz-e in the Karsten as well.

Ya they are the ones i saw in the local shop Chris.....Really nice...

I used to have one, the no 2, until I hit my bag with a ball of the tee  thankfully the shaft took the brunt of it! I think I might have the head lying around somewhere all it need is a shaft and a grip.

If you like the 2ball but dont like the insert. They have just brought out a 2ball with a milled face. But and its a big but. Think is about £200 a lot of cash.

Had a look at one Dave...Really nice but as you say really saucy too....

I think that with a lot of these new putters you are just paying for a badge......
